DELL EQUALOGIC PS 6100 storage reset password

This document describes the procedure to do Factory defaults in DELL EQUALOGIC PS 6100 storage.

Step-by-Step Procedure

Perform these steps in order to do Reset Password for factory defaults DELL EQUALOGIC PS 6100 storage:

1. Perform these steps in order to establish a console session to switch:
   1. Connect one of the supplied DB-9-to-DB-9 adapters to the PC serial (COM#) port.
   2. Connect the other end of the supplied DB-9 connector to the RS-232 management port on the switch.

Note: The RS-232 management port is labelled CONSOLE.

 

1. 1. c. Select the com port number Putty.
      d. Choose these settings:
      Serial line: COM3
      Speed (baud): 9600
      Data bits: 8
      Stop bits: 1
      Parity: None
      Flow control: XON/XOFF2. Reboot the storage.
      a. Console on the Equallogic and powercycle the device
      b. Press CTRL+P on boot

      c. Use the following commands:
      EQL> setenv RESETPASSWORD 1
      EQL> reload

       This should reset the password back to defaults =>
      Username: grpadmin
      Password: grpadmin
