Replacing the Standby Power Supply (SPS) in EMC VNX storage systems is critical for maintaining system reliability during power disruptions. This guide outlines the step-by-step process to safely perform the replacement.

Steps to Follow:

Step 1 : Verify SPS faulted from front side amber led on it or logging in Unisphere software .

Step 2: After verified shutdown faulty SPS by pressing button on it from Rear.

Step 3: Unplug the power cord from the site power source and Unplug from the SPS.

Step 4: Unplug Sense cable .

Step 5: Unplug the Power code connecting to SPS to SP Directly above it.

Step 6: Remove the Front Bezel by pressing the two latch buttons to release it.

Step 7: Now Remove the front Plate from the SPS by removing the screws attaching the plate

Step 8: From the Rear remove four screws that secure the it to the rack.

Step 9: After removing front screws slide the faulty SPS from the front of the rack.

Step :10 Install Replacement Unit by sliding it into place.

Step 11: From the Rear rack secure it using four screws.

Step 12: Reconnect Power cable to the replacement SPS.

Step 13: Attach the front Plate the screws you removed.

Step 14 : Align the front Bezel with the front of the SPS push it until it snaps into place.

Step 15: Switch On Replaced SPS from Rear of Rack and check status on LED or logging in Unisphere System.
